La Grama
Founded in 2006, La Grama is a Peruvian company that works with small-scale growers in communities from all over Peru including the Amazon rainforest, the Andean highlands and the desert coast. La Grama produces ginger that is planted, harvested, and packed in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest where the soil and climate allow them to grow some of the freshest organic yellow ginger. Working with marginalized small scale growers, La Grama has been able to provide benefits to their workers that they’ve never previously had access to – paid overtime, social benefits, severances, compensations, health insurance, and retirement pension funds.
