Creekside Organics

Creekside Organics, Inc. is a licensed commission merchant specializing in exclusively marketing organic produce. Creekside is committed to aiding serious, well-established organic farmers bring their produce to market. Located in Bakersfield, CA, Creekside markets produce grown in the San Joaquin, Coachella and Salinas Valleys of California.

In 1999, Brenda began marketing organic fruits and vegetables for Pavich Family Farms.  A couple years later Brenda left Pavich Family Farms and brought with her a few of the vegetable growers that Pavich was no longer able to service and began working with Sierra Heights Marketing, now known as Homegrown Organic Farms. It was during her time working for Pavich Family Farms and Homegrown Organic Farms that Brenda began to develop relationships with organic farmers, wholesalers and retailers. After years of working for these companies, Brenda realized she could better fulfill the needs of organic farmers and her growing family by starting her own company. It was with this principle in mind that she and her business partner, Dennis Maul, created Creekside Organics, Inc. in the spring of 2011.  Creekside Organics, Inc. represents organic produce growers in the marketplace, facilitating the sales of organic produce between the farm and retailers, wholesalers and distributors, as a licensed commission merchant.

Devine Organics

Devine Organics has its roots in Double D Farms, a conventional produce company which began as an almond grower in 1986. In the mid-1990s, Double D Farms started growing organics, reflecting the burgeoning interest of owners Don and Elvia Devine in producing organic products. Devine Organics was the natural result of this focus, and today the Devine Organics division of the company represents all of their organic commodities. With nearly 75 percent of the business now focused on organics, the new company identity reflects this shift. Today, Double D Farms is the brand representing their conventional produce. Whether conventionally or organically grown, you can trust that the highest standards for quality and safety are met to bring your family the freshest produce available.

Ferrari Farms

When Wayne and his father George started farming nuts and stone fruit and 1963, they established a family tradition. Wayne, his wife Irene, and their sons Jeff and Greg still farm the 300 acre property all year round with skill and enthusiasm – Greg even got a degree in Plant Science from Fresno State.

The Ferrari Farms family takes their CCOF organic certification seriously. They build owl and bat houses and release predatory insects on their property in order to control pests without the use of chemicals, and gamely battle through the weeds that grow uninhibited by synthetic weed killers. They handle their crop processing from start to finish, doing all the pruning, picking, and packing on-site.

Glory B Farm

Glory B Farms is nestled in the Grays River Valley just 2 miles from the historic Grays River Covered Bridge. Tom Zimmerman, his wife April and their four daughters live on the family farm. Tom has been farming since his teens, when his family moved to the valley in 1976.

He started with a small patch behind the house and now has 17 acres of cropland on two different sites. One field is on the wet side of the west coast range and the other is in the rain shadow. Having land in these two separate microclimates allows Tom an extended harvest season, including some really good shoulder season kales and collards.

Washington State Certified Organic since 1993, Glory B was an early adopter of the standards, and is proud to hold cert #468, in a state now issuing certs numbered over 2000.

Heirloom Gardens

In a lush green valley flooded with cool coastal breezes, Grant Brians specializes in growing heirloom varietals. Harvested young, his tender baby greens offer tons of flavor and directly reflect the tasty benefits of organic agriculture. His farm was the second to be certified in California (1976) and the first to be certified in the Santa Clara Valley. Today he grows over 100 varieties of organic fruits and vegetables.

All of Grant’s plants are open pollinated, inter-cropped (planted together) and harvested by hand. His full time, year-round staff takes exceptional care of each varietal. The results are well appreciated—his harvest has long been sought after by California chefs and can be found on plates in many of the best restaurants in the Bay Area.
