Living off the grid in the beautiful Robson Valley, and generating power through alternative energy sources, Garry and Wendy Lowe operate their 350 acre farm with a big sense of ethics and environmental stewardship. Devoted to sustainability and biodiversity, they grow only heirloom varieties of organic potatoes, garlic, grain and vegetables utilizing power from their three teams of Belgian horses.
They preserve their own seed for all their grains, garlic and a growing number of vegetables as they progress toward their goal of “zero inputs”. They also grow heirloom varieties of grains, which they package in pure cotton muslin bags sewn on the farm. They encourage others to grow their own food whenever possible to improve their personal nutrition and food security.
