Interrupcion Fair Trade
Interrupcion Fair Trade began as a nonprofit venture in response to the Argentinean economic collapse in 2001, but quickly grew into a business supporting fair trade, organic and sustainable farming practices across Argentina, Chile, and Costa Rica/
Interrupcion chooses sustainable agriculture in order to improve the lives of their grower communities, devoting 4% of the gross revenue from every product to Social Premium projects. This 4% is put to work, allowing the growers to build kindergartens, offer scholarships, and micro-loans to community members, as well as create public health programs and retirement funds. Buying the apples, pears, and other products produced by Interrupcion growers and other cooperatives whose fruit they market is a gesture of solidarity with communities struggling against adversity, and a powerful statement in support of this social and agricultural movement.
“We are interrupción*, a stakeholder community that is working to build a sustainable future through responsible consumption, sustainable development, organic farming and fair trade.”
