Beck Grove

Location:
Fallbrook, California

Beck grove and LaVigne Enterprises were founded in 1994 when Robert Beck and Helen Beck abandoned Los Angeles to pursue a more healthy lifestyle in a beautiful rural area in north San Diego County. They converted a neglected avocado farm into an abundant grove, producing 15 different fruit crops, all of which are 100% organic and biodynamic. Their grove is devoted to less-mainstream fruits, including kumquats, persimmons, cherimoyas, minneolas, and blood oranges.

Recognizing how much fruit gets wasted, Helen Beck created La Vigne Enterprise which uses fruit that would be thrown away to create delicious sauces, conserves, condiments, purees and powders.

At Beck Grove, they have seen first hand that growing organically and biodynamically creates fruit with dynamic and vibrant flavors. The quality of the soil and its nutrients make a great difference in the flavor of the fruit. Robert and Helen only use natural fertilizers and traditional organic farming methods to enrich their land. It gives them a great feeling of accomplishment when they hear that their fruit - even though it may look like others - has a quality and taste that leads consumers not only to want more, but to experiment with new textures and tastes.

Robert and Helen are proud to contribute to the organic agriculture movement and giving people a healthy alternative.
