Produce Update: Winter is here!

We are moving into the heart of winter now, and leafy greens are racing out the door.

Homegrown navels are exceptionally good this year, and pricing is getting sharper.

As local selection wanes, the Sonora Desert region is in high production with peppers, squash, eggplant, tomato and zucchini. Prices are still high, with cooler than normal temperatures keeping supply tight.

We’ve go the Edward Honeyblush Mango in all sizes, and Tommy and Ataulfo are very limited as Ecuador is winding down.

Central Valley Broccoli and Cauli are just coming on and this will be a 4-6 week run.

Lettuce, spinach and chard are plentiful. Kale harvest can’t keep up to demand right now, but supply is steady.

We have a cold snap coming so make sure your root veg selection is well stocked – seems like everyone bakes when it’s frosty outside!
